Quinonez keeps Redstone’s operations running on the same playbook that built the department, and he shares his approach in a keynote at IntraLogisteX Dallas.
CARROLLTON, TX, UNITED STATES, October 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Redstone Foods, the third-generation, family-owned candy and specialty food distributor marking its 60th year in business in 2026, has promoted Richard Quinonez to Operations Director. Quinonez succeeds Tim Ikner, who is retiring after more than 30 years leading Redstone’s operations team, half of the company’s history.
“Tim built our operations team over 30 years. Richard joined in 2021 and, in that time, has made a tremendous impact on the team. Sixty years in, this is exactly how Redstone grows: the next generation steps in trained, ready, and already proven. We could not ask for a smoother handoff,” said Neal Rothstein, Vice President of Redstone Foods.
Quinonez brings more than 20 years of experience in operations, warehouse management, distribution, and supply chain leadership to the role. Across his career, he has built high-performing teams and developed future leaders through coaching, mentorship, and a focus on continuous improvement, the same approach he is bringing to Redstone’s operations team.
Quinonez brought that same approach to the stage at IntraLogisteX Dallas, where he delivered a keynote on developing team members from entry-level to senior leaders. His session argued that every senior operations leader started as a beginner, and that organizations build their own leadership pipeline by investing in training, ownership, and mentorship rather than waiting for experienced talent to appear. He distilled that argument into three takeaways: great leaders are developed, not found; growth happens when employees are given ownership; and a culture of learning creates long-term success, the same principles now shaping how Redstone staffs and runs its operations team.
“The greatest responsibility of leadership is not simply to manage performance, but to unlock potential,” Quinonez told the IntraLogisteX audience.
The transition comes as Redstone keeps expanding its reach from its Carrollton, Texas distribution center, serving independent candy stores, soda shops, convenience stores, and specialty retailers across the United States and internationally. Redstone’s retailer customers can expect the same order accuracy and fulfillment reliability the company has built its name on, now carried forward by a leader who spent years learning the operation from the person who built it.
