Swiss watch output halved since 2000 while export revenue nearly tripled to $31 billion, a new report on the luxury market found.
NEW YORK CITY, NY, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Vacheron Constantin and The Metropolitan Museum of Art will present three original works at The Met on October 8, according to a September 22 report. Artists Aspen Golann, Ibrahim Said and Joy Harvey created the pieces during an 18-month Artisan Residency Program the two institutions launched in May 2025.
Golann carved Vessels, a series of monumental wooden vases in bas-relief. Said modeled and engraved Shaping Time, a three-tiered tower of lacquered ceramic. Harvey hammered and chiseled Ruined Splendour Bronze Diadem from an alloy of bronze, copper, tin, gold and silver, and she used 3D scanning in her process.
The residents worked in New York, Geneva and their home studios. Each studied works in The Met collection and visited the artistic crafts workshop at the Vacheron Constantin Manufacture, where artisans practice guilloché, engraving, gem setting and enameling. The partnership began in 2023 and includes A Masterpiece on the Wrist, a program for unique watches with enamel dials that draw on Met artworks.
Vacheron Constantin traces its apprenticeship tradition to 1755, when Jean Marc Vacheron signed the company’s first apprenticeship contract.
