Jittery Joe’s Coffee Brings Athens-Roasted Coffee To More Than 100 Lowes Foods Locations

Signature Coffees and Cocoa Are Now Available Across North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia

ATHENS, GA, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Jittery Joe’s Coffee is bringing coffee roasted in Athens, Georgia, to grocery aisles across the Southeast with the launch of its coffees and cocoa at more than 100 Lowes Foods locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Now available at participating stores, the collection includes Pete’s Groovy Brew in whole bean and ground varieties, Tour de Force ground coffee and single-serve instant packets, Café de Olla, Widespread Panic Up All Night Coffee and Pete the Cat Hot Cocoa. Together, the lineup introduces Lowes Foods shoppers to Jittery Joe’s signature roasts and collaborations celebrating the artists, musicians and creative culture connected to the company’s Athens roots.

“We have spent more than 30 years roasting coffee in Athens and growing Jittery Joe’s one relationship at a time,” says Michael Ripps, president and co-owner of Jittery Joe’s Coffee. “Lowes Foods understands the value of regional brands and the communities behind them, which makes this a natural fit for us. We’re excited to make Jittery Joe’s part of the daily coffee routine for more people across the Southeast.”

Jittery Joe’s opened beside Athens’ legendary 40 Watt Club in 1994 and has grown from its original coffeehouse into a retail and wholesale coffee company with cafés across Georgia and customers throughout the country. The company continues to roast its coffees to order at its Athens facility using beans sourced from producers around the world, an approach that recently earned Jittery Joe’s recognition as one of Newsweek’s Best Premium Coffee Brands of 2026.

The launch significantly expands the company’s retail footprint through a grocer that shares its regional focus. Founded in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in 1954, Lowes Foods serves communities across the Carolinas and Georgia, with a longstanding commitment to supporting local businesses and bringing regional products to its shoppers.
