Lucas Oil Stadium’s Newest Blue and White Fixtures: UNITS Storage Containers for Tailgating, Team Equipment Storage

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — UNITS^® Moving and Portable Storage of Indianapolis is excited to offer portable storage solutions to the Indianapolis Colts this season, with custom-wrapped, dual-branded UNITS containers helping fans tailgate home games all season at Lucas Oil Stadium. The locally owned and operated franchise is led by Mike Simek, a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran who has called the Indianapolis area home for more than 15 years.

From Camp to Kickoff

Prior to the regular season’s kickoff, the Colts used UNITS^® portable storage containers to help move and store team gear and equipment throughout the preseason training camp. Now that Colts football is in full swing, those blue-and-white containers can be found in the American Family Insurance Touchdown Town, located outside the Lucas Oil Stadium North Gate along South Street.

“Nobody buys a Colts ticket to watch a storage container. But anyone who has run a large event knows the whole thing lives or dies on logistics,” said Simek. “Training camp moved a mountain of equipment, and a tailgate for hundreds of families needs storage that can sit in a parking lot through an Indiana fall and winter. If our containers can hold up to that, they can handle an Indiana fall and winter.”

Placement on Point

UNITS^® containers are delivered using the company’s ROBO-UNIT delivery system, which is designed to help keep containers level during loading and unloading and allow for precise placement. That detail matters whether the cargo is a family’s dining room set or a professional football team’s equipment.

The same style containers serving the Colts are available to homeowners and businesses in Indianapolis and nationwide through the UNITS^® network of locally owned and operated franchise locations, giving people a place to store and move belongings during a move, a renovation, or anything in between.

“Being a small part of a Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium is a good day at work,” said Brian Petersson, General Manager of UNITS of Indianapolis. “Then on Monday, we’re back out in driveways across Indianapolis, doing the same job for people moving a house or clearing out a garage. It’s the same equipment, the Colts just gave us a more visible place to park it.”

From residential customers planning a move to businesses needing flexible onsite storage, UNITS^® remains focused on delivering expert portable moving and storage solutions nationwide with personal, neighborly service.
